STYLE GURU BIO: Brianna Satterwhite

Hello my fellow Fashionistas! My name is Brianna Satterwhite and I am super excited to be a Style Guru this summer! The start of this exciting summer ahead ends my third year at Liberty University where I am majoring in fashion merchandising and minoring in business. I’ve been in love with fashion for as long as I can remember. It wasn’t until middle school until I realized that I actually wanted to pursue a career in it, through all aspects of the industry.

Ever since that realization, I have done as much as I can to get experience related to the industry whether it’s been talking to editors, stylists and designers themselves. I remember in middle school my mom got me a subscription to Teen Vogue and I currently have every issue of that magazine since April 2008. Shortly before my college career began I became a Teen Vogue It Girl which has allowed me amazing opportunities like being a back-to-school ambassador this past fall! As well as attending Teen Vogue Fashion University last year as a design/styling major where I heard from Zac Posen, Adam Selman, Brandon Maxwell, Rebecca Minkoff, Erin Walsh and many other amazing individuals. Hearing from these amazing and insightful people just solidified my love and drive for fashion even more.

My style has evolved tremendously over the past few years (thankfully). I find style inspiration from any and everything from social media, blogs and music as well as my travels. I love to see others take on certain trends happening in fashion. My style now tends to be on the more simple, edgy scale. I don’t usually wear much color, I tend to wear a lot of black and neutrals with a pop of color here and there. Especially with being a college student I’m worried more about the durability and comfort of the things I wear. Lately, I’ve just been experimenting with my look more especially those “fashion rules” like only wearing boots in the cold. Forget that, wear boots whenever you want to wear them. I have my own fashion rules—if you like it just wear it!

For this outfit I wanted it to be simple but ultimately show my personal style so I went with a leather skirt, tank, jean jacketboots and sunglasses
