STYLE GURU BIO: Bailie Hunter

Hello, all! I’d like to tell the awesome readers of CollegeFashionista a little bit more about myself. My name is Bailie Smith-Hunter, and I grew up in the Cincinnati area. I decided to go away for college, so now I attend Western Kentucky University (go Tops!) in Bowling Green, Kentucky. I’m majoring in International Relations with a minor in Business, and my hope is to run an American Embassy in another country, start a non-profit to help refugees in the Middle East, be wildly successful and look fabulous doing it. Even though I’m not going into a career in fashion, I’m SO excited to be a Style Guru and I hope you enjoy reading my articles this semester.

To help you get to know me, here are some random facts about me. When I was around six years old, an emu at a farm attacked me and knocked me to the ground. I’m obsessed with Demi Lovato—shout-out to any Lovatics! I love music, and my favorite musicians are Walk the Moon, Twenty One Pilots, Panic! At the Disco and Halsey. Downtown Cincinnati and Disney World are among my favorite places to be. Although I love dressing up, my absolute favorite things to wear are big T-shirts and leggings.

Fashion was my first love, and it will probably be my last. When I was younger, instead of playing outside like most kids, my favorite thing to do was to play dress up (and it still is). The thing that I have always loved most about fashion and style is that it lets you be whoever you want to be, and you can portray yourself in so many different ways. My personal style is very eclectic, and it’s a crazy combination of boho, girly, edgy, preppy and lazy; but I love it because I can dress one way one day, and completely change it up the next. For instance, my look here is a good end-of-summer outfit that is both casual and cute. I have on a simple black babydoll dress paired with a black textured dolman cardigan and leather sandals. I think black on black is always cute and adds a little edginess to an outfit. Accessories can transform an outfit, which is why I also added a straw hat and tassel necklace.

I hope you all have a fabulous semester!
