STYLE GURU BIO: Audrey O'Donnell

Boy, does it feel good to be back on campus! After a long summer of working and expanding my personal fashion expertise in the San Francisco Bay Area, I am excited to begin my second year at Syracuse University, and my second semester as a Style Guru.

If you’ve ever been to the eastern United States, the brutal humidity that haunts the coast comes as no surprise. After spending the last three and a half months in the dry heat of California, I am expecting my transition to be a tad rocky. There is a sticky and sweaty exposé that accompanies the beginning of a beautiful fall in Upstate New York, and it is crucial that one is prepared both mentally and fashionably.

I am wearing a thrifted, lightweight pantsuit that is perfect for the transition back to academia. Its black and white pattern is simple yet stylish, and its airy fabric is perfect for any blight of weather. Beneath my pantsuit, I am wearing a black bralette with a patterned back. In my opinion, gold is the perfect complementary color, so I accessorize with a gold statement necklace, a gold arm cuff and a black and gold wrap bracelet. While keeping my jewelry choices humble, I am able to stay cool while walking from class to class.

My strappy platform sandals ensure that my feet are able to breathe, and are also easy to throw on if I’m ever in a rush to get out the door. After I throw on my summery white-rimmed shades and big black bag, I am ready for my day!

I am so excited for this semester of learning and sharing with all of you! Until next time…

Hello, I’m Audrey! I attend Syracuse University in upstate New York, but was born and raised in the San Francisco, California Bay Area. My first year away from home was a tough one, but I learned so much about myself and I can’t wait to be back on campus in the fall! My style consists of funky statement pieces, an array of neutral colors, a perfect combination of jewelry and always a swipe of colorful lipstick. My favorite stores include ASOS, Urban Outfitters, Top Shop and Free People, but I rely heavily on thrift stores to help finish off an incomplete outfit. You can most likely find me on a hike, in the local coffee shop, online shopping, or eating my way through the Bay Area. Style on!
