STYLE GURU BIO: Abby Gundler

Hello all! My name is Abby Gundler and I am so excited for my second semester of writing for CollegeFashionista. This fall I will be returning to Kent State University as a sophomore in Fashion Merchandising. I am from a small town outside of Cincinnati, Ohio. At Kent State I am a member of the Fashion Student Organization and a nondenominational Christian campus group, The Navigators.

I want to pursue a career in the fashion industry because I want to help people learn how to dress to please themselves, as well as help the industry understand that style is for every size. After my freshman year my desire to work in the fashion industry has grown even more. There has been so much change in the past year with fashion in size equality and it is such an exciting time for the industry. With Lane Bryant beginning their PlusIsEqual campaign and Melissa McCarthy starting her own brand that is plus size. Both of these brands agree that size should not limit your ability to be stylish. I can not wait to join this industry and be a part of this amazing change that is taking place.

My personal style is pretty classic and feminine. It consists of a lot of black and white and oh so many skirts! One of my absolute favorite things is small dainty necklaces like the one I am wearing in this photo with my initials on it. I also love cardigans because they can just add a bit of color or layering to any simple outfit and really complete it.

I hope this is a great summer of writing for CollegeFashionista!
