While skinny jeans will always hold a place in every Fashionista’s heart, I’m making the case with a pant with a little more drama this spring season. The wide-leg trouser may seem like an intimidating trend (how in the world could massive amounts of fabric be flattering?), but baggy can sometimes be a terrific idea. Not to mention, nothing beats the comfort of loose pants!
This Fashionista flaunts these awesome wide-leg printed pants and she accessorizes in the absolute best way. It’s all about swapping out your subtle daytime jewelry for statement pieces, like the gold piece she wears. The crop top to go along with the outfit shows minimal skin, but she keeps covered with a cardigan for class. Crop tops were a huge trend at New York Fashion Week and they pretty much appeared in every show I watched. A simple cross-body bag is perfect for this look; with the pants being so busy you want something small, but functional to use on a day out. The sandals are a great touch to being relaxed in the warm weather, but I could definitely see this look with a simple ankle strap heel. This Fashionista shows how easy, relaxed and cool it is to have the ideal pieces added to your wardrobe for this season.
Knowing your body type is what allows you to make the most out of the long list of styling tips and tricks granting you to enjoy this particular type of silhouette. The wide-legged pants are not only for tall women. If anything, they lend you a chance to achieve that long and lean silhouette, by adding extra length to your body.
Choose high-waisted pants to elongate your frame. To accentuate your waistline or create the illusion of one, style the pants with a belt. A high-waisted paired with a full flare also works in accentuating the waist. Make sure the pants fit great at the top for them to elongate your legs.
Giving wide-leg pants a chance this season doesn’t mean you have to be completely over the slim/skinny look. It just means you can step outside your comfort zone, even if it’s just for one day of the week when you feel like wearing something else.
