A trend that was once only viewed as suited for the spring season has extended its horizons to the fall. During a few of the fall 2013 fashion week shows, we saw an array of designers present the new unexpected trend. Dusty pinks, soft blues and pale yellows were presented. They fit beautifully within the winter months. Now that we have just entered the month of December, the success of pastels during this time will be unveiled by everyday people.
This week’s Fashionista got dressed one morning not knowing she would be the answer and moderator to the great inquisitiveness I held regarding this trend. She wore a low saturated pink V-neck sweater with white horizontal stripes and pastel colored flats. The flats were a mixture of green, blue and white, which created an extremely soft and light turquoise color. The two colors complemented her dark blue colored denim jeans, and as the finishing touch, she wore a small silver chain necklace.
Overall, the colors seem to be fit for the fall and winter holidays. The colors wouldn’t be described as warm colors such as red or deep orange; however, the brightness of the colors does bring a sense of warmth to the heart this particular season. My favorite trend within the trend is the pastel colored winter coats. In the designers Rochas and Carven’s fall 2013 ready-to-wear collections, you can find oversized pastel coats that would look fierce yet festive this season. Check them out!
