STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: The Dog Days of Denim Are Back

We’ve all been through the denim phase back in the late ‘90s, but its back with a new vengeance. I get that when some people think of denim all over, they are brought back to one of the most horrifying and memorable red carpet looks of all time—featuring the infamous Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake in 2001. However, now the denim-on-denim trend has transformed itself from all over denim outfits with pouches, denim hats and denim purses to a stylish and chic fashion statement.

This Fashionista definitely has mastered the denim-on-denim look; she manages to look flawless and comfortable in between classes and club meetings. Although her shades of denim are similar, she rocks her outfit by creating her own denim jumpsuit. She uses a vintage top from her mom and vintage Lee jeans. Look closely and you’ll see that she tucks in her denim button down top and rolls of up the cuffs of her jeans to add a subtle twist to make her outfit super trendy.

However, what makes her outfit work is the perfect accessories she pairs with it—and don’t worry, none of them are denim purses or hats. She pairs the denim-on-denim look with nude lace-up ballet flats from Zara, adding a hint of elegance and sophistication to her look. Also, to keep with the ‘90s trend transformation she is showcasing a beaded and tasseled choker. Then to top off her look she rocks some red lipstick and confidence.
