STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: In the Trenches of Style

Growing up in the city of Chicago with New York dreams and Carrie Bradshaw style aspirations, trench coats quickly became a staple in my dream closet. I was sure that it would be an element in the looks I’d wear while working in the city and making Miranda Priestly proud. Whether you’re heading to handle business, meeting up with a friend or just grabbing coffee on your way to Michigan Ave. for a major shopping spree, trench coats are the perfect way to polish your outfit and look both chic and fierce. Grab your trench coat and work it, honey!

This Fashionista was rocking the streets of campus in Champaign with her neutral-toned outfit, her tan trench coat and tan shorts compliment each other perfectly. Trench coats are so versatile that you can pair them with editor style dress pants for a more formal look or tan chino shorts, the way this Fashionista did, for a more chic everyday feel to your outfit. Trench coats can be found in a large variety of colors, patterns, and styles but a classic tan trench coat will never steer you wrong!

I absolutely love this look, this Fashionista put her outfit together so eloquently and it all flows together. Her pattern shirt and floral Coach Rhodelle Espadrille Logo flats, both tan-based, allow her outfit to have some variety but it still doesn’t distract from the look overall. She finishes her outfit with a navy Longchamp tote that is big enough to use and still adds a splash of color for a fun addition to her look which, if she had used a tan or brown bag, would have been much more nonchalant. Her brown Gucci cat-eye sunglasses frame her face and make her a little more mysterious, making this ensemble a little more polished and chic.

Wearing a tan trench coat can let you accessorize in endless ways and will make you feel chic and sexy every time, regardless of what your plans are!

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Summer is a time for many different events in my life, trench coats let me feel classy and cute in flats walking down the street or with heels to my internship: such a steal!”
