More and more people have begun to embrace a grungier wardrobe. An element of this style that I love is the beanie trend. This is a unisex trend that is easy to implement and requires little to no thought behind it. Having noticed this trend on my frequently viewed blogs, editorial spreads and on the street, I was excited to find this Fashionista embracing a trend that I myself was extremely intrigued by.
I love beanies because, although they are simple, they can make a very powerful impact on an outfit. One might think this trend is extremely limiting, you might be surprised as to how many variations exist. Beanies come in all shapes, sizes, materials, styles and colors. On average they are relatively an inexpensive way to add interesting elements to your wardrobe. Although I always tend to think that neutral colors are more versatile and just plain better, this is one accessory you can dare to experiment with.
Beanies have the ability to make an outfit cozy and cute when paired with a wintery ensemble, however, they can also add a touch of edge when worn with something simple like a T-shirt and jeans. The Fashionista I spotted wore patched jeggings, layered black sweaters and an army green jacket. She accessorized with a chunky necklace, sunglasses and of course her beanie.
Celebrities like Kendall Jenner and Harry Styles have been spotted rocking the knit beanie trend and models for shows like BCBGMAXAZRIA and DKNY walked the runways this New York Fashion Week accessorized in beanies. So whether you want to make it a statement by wearing a bright colored knit or just hide that bad hair day, beanies are definitely the way to go.
