STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: April Showers Bring May Style

May 6th, 2016 at 2:10am

We all know the struggle of picking out an outfit on a rainy day—cue “What shoes do I wear?” and the frantic room search for you umbrella. Dressing for wet weather isn’t always ideal, but that doesn’t mean you have to throw on sweats and rain boots and call it a day. It’s so easy to put together a simple yet chic rainy day outfit; why wouldn’t you want to stand out amidst the endless crowds of black Hunter boots?

This Fashionista looks sleek and sophisticated in an all-black ensemble with a denim jacket to top it off. A high-neck top pairs well with high-waisted jeans, and layers are key when dealing with unpredictable weather. An oversized denim jacket gives the look a vintage vibe, and breaks up the monochromatic color scheme a bit. Every Fashionista should own the perfect denim jacket in her wardrobe. We like this one with a fun phrase embroidered on the back for a unique twist on a classic staple.

I love this Fashionista’s shoes as well. With a unique style and casual but comfy design, these shoes are super versatile, and they’ll take you from season to season with minimal effort. Try a similar pair in a metallic hue and wear them with distressed boyfriend jeans, a crisp white button-down and a felt panama hat.

The stone necklace also brightens the look up and adds a touch of color. In a geometric silhouette and a warm gold hue this piece is the cherry on top of an already lovely look. We love this bolo style necklace in a similar design to pair with your slouchiest T-shirt and denim shorts combo.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “My style can vary vastly and usually depends on how I’m feeling at that particular time in my life. Last year, I was really into ’50s and ’60s attire, such as light colors, red lipstick and ultra-feminine style. Nowadays, I find myself wearing all black. I always try to wear vintage, though.”
