My Morning Travel Routine

Morning routines are different when they’re not in your 600 square foot college apartment, or your pastel blue childhood bedroom. Traveling is exciting—a change of pace, setting, culture, etc. Whether you’re traveling internationally, or to another city in your state, here’s a look into what a typical morning in my life whilst traveling looks like.

1. Wake Up

Unlike most mornings, I don’t have to be up at 6 a.m. for class or work. I’m usually awake by 7:30, so I don’t have to set an alarm unless I have somewhere to be. You can’t go wrong with your favorite pair of printed pajamas. I spend a solid thirty minutes scrolling through my social media accounts. I’m sure that you can all relate—especially when you have to rush through your breakfast and makeup routine because of it. On vacation, though, things are a little different (a lot lax)! Getting up is not nearly as difficult, so take the time to get your beauty rest. If you have to opt for glasses over contacts to do so, it is 100% worth it! How I get up sets up my mood for the rest of the day.

2. Cleanse

It’s crucial that you stay consistent with your skincare routine, no matter where you are. This is especially important if you’ll be on an airplane for a while, since the dry air will cause some unsightly breakouts. I always bring along my favorite facial cleanser. It’s portable, which makes it easy to plop into my suitcase before heading out.

3. Cup of Morning Joe

I’ve gotten into the routine of coffee every morning, and vacations are no different. The hotel that I stayed at has breakfast included, so I took advantage of the coffee station in the lobby more than once during my stay.

4. Explore

The purpose of traveling is to explore unchartered territory. I have been to Naples a couple of times before this trip, but never to this particular area. Exploring has led me to my favorite locally owned ice cream shop, and favorite shopping center in Bonita Springs.
