At this point, I’m sure my full-fledged fashion fanaticism has made itself quite apparent. Although I undoubtedly consider fashion to be my first love, music ranks a close second. A wise person once said, “You are what you listen to.” Our taste in music and the basic ability to appreciate it defines us all individually. If this statement is true, I can happily identify as an eclectic Stevie Wonder/Lana Del Rey/Bob Dylan hybrid. Though I will probably scoff at those who have never heard of James Taylor or Van Morrison, I’m not enough of a music snob to judge personal preferences — simply loving any type of music says plenty about one’s character in my opinion.
While I do enjoy bumping my favorite jams in the car with the windows down or through my headphones during a workout, nothing can ever compare to a live concert. If I get to a point in my life where I can blow my paychecks on live music and Chanel bags, I can die happy. I know I’m not alone when I say that my heart belongs to music and fashion – these two art forms have gone hand-in-hand ever since the Beatles rocked their shiny suits and skinny ties. I know we all love the music itself, but I’m sure we can also appreciate how important the concert outfit is, right? It’s half the fun!
I spotted this trendy Fashionista walking downtown, on her way to an outdoor concert. Her look is the perfect blend of casual and glam, which is the ideal concert combination! Sporting a comfy pair of black leggings, a slouchy sweater and a military-esque oversized vest, she looks laid back but adorably party-ready. Her weathered combat boots and bohemian leopard headwrap add a funky Stevie Knicks vibe, while her chunky gold watch and tailored satchel keep her getup dainty and understated feminine. A little bit country and a little bit rock ‘n’ roll…is there anything better?
One Simple Change: Though I’m all for a fierce leather tote, there’s nothing worse than lugging around a giant bag as you make your way through an unruly crowd—especially if someone dare spill their Blue Moon on your beloved Michael Kors. For easy access and a fun pop of color, swap out your trademark carryall for a petite neon cross-body. It’s the perfect size to secure all your concert essentials and, more importantly, it allows for a fuller range of motion. If there’s going to be good beats, a girl’s going to need both hands free!
