How To Overcome With the Stress of Your School Year

Anxiety disorders are one of the most common mental health problems on college campuses. Of course starting college or even going back-to-school can be a stressful process; however if you suffer from anxiety it can make that process a little bit more overwhelming. The good news is it is college, and there are so many opportunities to evolve as an individual and to get involved on your campuses and with your communities. You should never let anxiety get in the way of your dreams and trying new things.

The first thing to do is to realize that your anxiety is not everything and that there are probably certain situations that make you feel more anxious. When you are feeling more anxious don’t let those situations overcome you. To feel less anxious in the morning stick to a schedule on what you need to get done for that day or that week. Taking a day or night to yourself can be very beneficial, too. Keeping your body healthy, active and hydrated can help with the way you feel about yourself, increase your mood and make you feel more energized.

Staying positive is a really important part in overcoming stress or anxiety because often times having depression is paired with anxiety disorders. Remembering to stay positive in times where you feel like giving up will make you feel like a stronger person in the end. However, if you do think are suffering from anxiety and panic attacks and think you need more help most college and university campuses have mental health resources for you to use all you have to do is ask.
