Recently, I was spending my weekend browsing the web, and came across an exciting article regarding new makeup trends! Makeup trends, just like fashion, are always changing! We’ve all seen the blue eyeliner and eye shadow fad, and most of us have probably spent hours in the bathroom perfecting the newest ways to create a cat eye.
This month, however, I discovered a Fashionista trying out a new trend that’s bringing back the principles of art we all undoubtedly learned in our grade school electives. Monochromatic, which, according to the Merriam-Webster dictionary is, “having or consisting of one color or hue,” is the next big thing in makeup, and this Fashionista is rocking it!
The whole key to this look is to pick a color you love, and use only that color scheme for your whole makeup look. Not only does this create a stellar and trendy look, it’s also a fun challenge! Which color will you use to create monochrome mania?

After you’ve done this and applied foundation, then gather makeup in shades and tones of only that specific color! This Fashionista created a look with a lighter shade of mauve (your color of choice) on her eyelid, and darker shades of the color in the outer corner and crease. The dark outer corner and crease, help to add a level of drama. She also opted for a feminine touch to this monochrome mania by adding some glitter to the lid as well.
