WHAT TO WEAR: Winter Wedding

Dressing for special events during the wintertime is often a hassle. Knowing it could be a chilly snow day makes it difficult to dress warm all while staying chic. This Fashionista was on her way to a winter wedding and checked all the correct boxes when it comes to creating a look perfect for all cold weather outings.

This winter, textured wardrobe items have been flying off the racks. These textures weren’t only popular among clothes, but accessories. Subtly mixing velvet and suede make for a great winter outfit. I love how this Fashionista wore her emerald green velvet dress. The color is rich enough where she could still pull off wearing it after Christmas. Along with the beautiful color, the thicker material is an excellent guard for when a winter wind picks up.

Depending on the actual temperature outside, you could easily wear thicker tights with fur lining to keep your legs warm. Closed toe shoes are a must! I always have the most trouble keeping my feet warm so this Fashionista’s heels work great. The gold buckle pops against her black tights and suede shoes.

At first, you may think wearing a choker to a wedding wouldn’t be appropriate. Instead of the classic 90s thick black choker, thin diamond chokers are the new hit. The dainty diamonds give enough shine without being over-the-top.

Of course the most important item of clothing in the wintertime is your jacket. This Fashionista found the perfect coat for special events. It is versatile enough to be worn for a business event or just to wear with jeans. If you are looking for a color to switch up besides black, camel is my favorite for coats.

Don’t be afraid to wear a dress when it is below freezing! Remember to add layers anywhere you can. (If not, just think warm thoughts!!)
