WHAT TO WEAR: Winter Is Coming

I have a confession—I’m weather confused. Normally around this time, the New York air is crisp with the smell of snow. This year, however, December brought sunny skies and 50 degrees, and while I’m not complaining, I’m feeling a wee bit unsure of how to piece together an outfit for weather that is stuck somewhere in between winter and spring.

The key to surviving roller coaster weather is (drumroll please), layers! Shocking, right? And this Fashionista shows us exactly how wearing layers for a lukewarm winter is done right.

Pairing black denim with a simple crop top kept the look light enough for her to also add a cozy sweater without being too bundled up to head to class. Her layered necklaces adds an edge to the otherwise soft gray colors and her heeled Chelsea boots keep the look sleek and are a definite head turner! When night approaches and temperatures drop, or the day suddenly becomes chillier than expected, this Fashionista is prepared with a hooded gray color-block coat that would make Olivia Pope proud.

Summer has come to a close and this strangely warm weather will eventually transform into bone chilling temperatures. So remember to layer up, all you stylish people; winter is coming (soon, I think).

One Simple Change: Going out after a busy day of class and club meetings but don’t have time to change into an entirely new look? Just leave your coat and sweater at home and put on a leather or fringe jacket that keeps you feeling warm and looking sleek.
