WHAT TO WEAR: Winter

If you live anywhere in the country other than the south, us Floridians envy you. With record highs in temperature this winter, our trendy jacket and boot game has been pretty weak. Winter is supposed to be the prime time for fashion for us heat warriors, we get to pull out our best denim, leather and suede. Yet, with the winter winds taking their sweet time this year, we have to be creative.

This Fashionista isn’t letting the weather get her winter spirits down, she compromises with pairing signature cold weather attire in a way that proves to be pleasing with the harsh rays. She keeps her base layer simple, a black shift dress, then adds on items that can be easily added or removed. Her stylistic choices match with the tones of the season, darker and neutral shades matched with her jean jacket give off the essential winter vibe. She completes the look with a pair of light leather ankle boots and, of course. her pair of shades, any Florida Fashionista’s go-to accessory.

Despite having to wait a little longer for the comfort of the chilly winds, this Fashionista proves that no matter where you live, you can have your own version of a winter wardrobe. To all those in colder parts of the country, keep warm this winter, we’ll be shamelessly stalking your coat collection on Instagram.

One Simple Change: Translate this look from a day to night by switching out the denim coat for a leather jacket. You can never go wrong with darker tones and a little bit of edge.
