WHAT TO WEAR: Winter

While winter will be winding down here at North Central College within the next few weeks, we’re still dealing with freezing temperatures and dwindling motivation to look fashionable, while staying warm. The easiest way to accomplish this is by layering lots of warm items to create a chic outfit.

This Fashionista shows how to layer like a pro. She started off with a simple rose-colored blouse and then layered on a cream cardigan and an olive vest. The colors are all relatively neutral or muted which helps them all work together and look put-together. To top it off, she added a black puffy coat with a fur-lined hood. Neutral is best when picking out a coat, because you’ll want something that will go with everything.

In terms of accessories, this Fashionista kept it cool with a knit beanie and some Timberland boots which are perfect for trudging through the slush and keeping your feet dry and warm. Boot socks are also super popular right now, as well, and are a great way to accessorize even further like she did with her chunky pair.

This is the perfect look for those final few days of winter when the temperatures are still low, but you’re running out of OOTD inspiration. With just a few simple pieces, you layer your way to a cute and warm winter outfit.

One Simple Change: As it starts to warm up, just shed the vest and coat and switch out the socks and boots for some ballet flats to take this outfit from the negative temperatures to an early spring day.
