WHAT TO WEAR: Winter

I don’t know about everyone else (but I have a good feeling that most people would say the same), but men’s fashion has become my obsession. There’s just something about shopping for that guy in your life or styling your best guy friend that is just so fun. Maybe it’s because we get too caught up in ourselves and how we look that it feels good to take a break once in a while and shop in another department of the store. If you’re lucky enough, like myself, to have some very stylish men in your life—take advantage. Take them shopping and play around with ties and cuff links instead of pumps and designer handbags for a change.

This Fashionisto in my life could be considered quite the Style Guru himself. As a lover of everything designer, he has one of the best closets on campus. With this frigid frenzy that has hit almost all 50 states these last couple of weeks, we’ve had to pack on the layers here in Kentucky and that’s what he’s seen doing here.

This winter ensemble starts with an amazing dark wash jean. He’s found just the right fit and length to cuff around his brown loafers. The dark wash denim complements the taupe tones that he incorporated on top. The beige sweater and warm taupe (which Pantone just announced as a color to watch in its fall 2016 color report) blazer are essentials to tackling the cold days. Playing with a pop of color, underneath it all is a green and blue button-down, which I think we can all agree is the perfect amount of pattern and color.

Men everywhere should be taking notes on this Fashionisto’s style. A good outfit starts at the bottom and works its way through several layers of pieces that every guy should own.

One Simple Change: If you want to take this look up just a tiny notch, take it from casual to professional for an internship instantly with a trouser instead of a jean.
