WHAT TO WEAR: Winter

Going back to school after this long winter break has really made me appreciate my bed even more than I typically do (which is a lot). Eight a.m. classes in Florida’s low-of-40 winter has been quite the struggle, but I’d say my first month back has been a success. I’ve finally been able to showcase my winter wardrobe full of long coats, knit turtlenecks, black leather jackets and olive green bombers. I love walking around my university campus and seeing different Fashionista/os rock styles from street to preppy on their way to class.

I spotted this Fashionista between classes donning one of my favorite colors for the winter-spring transition: rust orange. The color gives such a street-chic attitude to any outfit whether it’s a cozy turtleneck or suede top. My known go-to for any look is the staple black skinny jeans. It never goes out of style and it never looks bad with an outfit. This Fashionista cuffed them perfectly for her black casual booties. Her accessories tie the entire look together; the gold watch and cuff bracelet with delicate midi rings complement the gold detailing on her Marc by Marc Jacobs Domo Arigato Packrat backpack. This street style bag seriously makes me rethink my Cheetah Girls roller bag in third grade. She simply put together a chic look for class that can be replicated and doesn’t take too much extra time away from the comfort of your bed in the mornings.

One Simple Change: Plans after your last Friday class? Not to worry. This can easily be taken up to a more going-out type look by kicking off your booties and throwing on some over-the-knee boots. Drop the book bag and pick up a black shoulder bag to complete the look! Even switching to a darker lip can instantly make this look one for a girl’s night out.
