WHAT TO WEAR: Winter

February 1st, 2016 at 10:40am

Winter in Savannah, Georgia, isn’t exactly cold, but the Fashionistas at SCAD still like to feel cozy in the breezy weather. Layering is one of my favorite parts of the winter season, but it can be hard to get all bundled up when it’s 70 degrees outside. This Fashionista had the perfect idea on how to layer without dying of heat.

This Fashionista took a pair of patterned shorts and put a thin pair of tights underneath them. This allowed her to add on the layers while still being comfortable in the warm Georgia weather. Her patterned shorts from Urban Outfitters add just the right amount of color to her outfit.

Black booties are a great item for any closet; they can go with virtually any outfit. The best part about booties is that they can be dressed up or down. Because black booties work so well with any outfit, they are the perfect shoe to slip on when running out the door. They are also great in warmer climates. They keep your feet warm and dry but still allow your calves to breathe.

She threw on a leather jacket over her white ribbed turtleneck. This is the perfect way to polish off any look. Leather jackets are not only great for the winter, but they also transfer nicely into spring on chilly days. A good leather jacket is definitely something worth investing in—they are a staple piece in any Fashionista’s wardrobe.

If you like to layer your clothes in the wintertime but live in a warm climate, take notes from this college Fashionista and work your summer shorts into your winter wardrobe!

One Simple Change: Take this chic look from a causal day look to a fun night look by swapping out the printed shorts for a flirty patterned skirt.
