WHAT TO WEAR: When it’s Cold in the Desert

Going to school in Arizona, everyone expects it to be hot and sunny all the time. However, that’s not always the case. Being able to dress for whatever the weather throws at you is important, that’s why layers are the way to go.

Take this Fashionista’s outfit for instance; a destroyed denim jacket, a long-sleeve T-shirt, black ripped jeans, and go-to booties. Each of these pieces are basics by themselves, but put them together and you get an effortlessly chic outfit. Not only is the jacket in trend this season, but also pairing it with ripped jeans adds a bit of an edge to an otherwise simple ensemble. This trend works perfectly for those windy days in Arizona when you’re walking around campus because the jacket cuts out the cold. Also, keeping with the desert trend, this Fashionista finishes off her simple outfit with a western-looking choker, detailed with silver ornate pieces. Little additions like the choker and her silver Alex and Ani bracelets tie the outfit together.

My personal favorite piece of this ensemble is the jacket. A staple denim jacket is an essential piece of any wardrobe. No matter the season, a denim jacket is a great layering piece that can instantly make an outfit more casual, yet more put together. Especially during those cooler months, adding another layer will keep you warm while keeping on trend.

Not only is this outfit perfect for class, easy to put together and oh so trendy, but it works for dinner out with friends as well. Ditch the backpack and study materials, grab a little black cross body purse, and hit up your favorite restaurant. On a busy day, gravitate toward your favorite basic pieces for an effortlessly chic outfit. Why go through the day with a drab outfit when you could be looking fab?
