WHAT TO WEAR: Weekend Wear

As the cold weather is still under our wing, we are all very hopeful that there will be a warm spell approaching. After walking to class in subzero weather, a day that reaches above 40 degrees gets everyone excited for the warmer weather to arrive. On this one warm day, I found this Fashionista parading through campus feeling thrilled about the wonderful warm weather, and I think her outfit choice shows it!

This Fashionista is wearing two trends that I can’t get enough of: poncho cardigan and knee-high boots. I love how she put her entire ensemble together and how she kept within a neutral color palette. Weekend wear is supposed to be fun and exciting, while trying to test the waters of all the different items in your closet. It’s extremely exciting to experiment with different popular trends of a particular season. This is a great way to show your own personal style and personality while feeling confident. The pencil skirt is a great go-to piece when hanging out with your friends on the weekend since it’s so versatile for every season. You can pair the skirt with tights when the weather is cold or you can do like this Fashionista and wear knee-high boots to help prevent your legs from becoming cold (and look cute while doing it). The boots are a fun item to incorporate into your wardrobe because the boots make an outfit look edgy. Lastly, adding accessories to an outfit like a floppy hat or a necklace is a great way to add fun details to your attire.

One Simple Change: Interested in wearing this ensemble to class? All you have to do is swap the skirt out for jeans or leggings and change the knee-high boots to Converse or combat boots. Now, you have a comfortable, but trendy outfit perfect for a day in the classroom.
