WHAT TO WEAR: Weekend Wear

As most of you lovely Canadian Fashionistas/os know, it was recently Canadian Thanksgiving. This is a time filled with family, fun, turkey and an extra long weekend to play around with. Although our bellies may be full, and the turkey coma may be as real as ever, a Fashionista must never pass up an opportunity to strut their stuff downtown on an extra day off from school.

A key to holiday weekend wear would definitely be combining style with comfort. Since flowy silhouettes and streamlined shapes seem to be way on-trend this fall season, we who love to stuff ourselves full of, well stuffing, don’t have to compromise comfort for a chic and simple weekend look.

The Fashionista pictured here has combined a perfectly feminine and flowy aritzia dress with a beautiful heather gray overcoat from Zara to add the perfect amount of structure to the look. This outfit is perfect for dinner with the family, a day running errands around town or a casual afternoon with your girlfriends. Seeing as comfort is not being compromised in this ultra chic look, there’s not much this Fashionista isn’t ready to take on this weekend.

One Simple Change: Ready to trade that family brunch for a fun night on the town with your girlfriends? Simply swap the gray overcoat for a sleek cropped leather jacket, toss on a statement necklace and you’re ready to take the night by storm. Make this look even spicier by changing the flat booties for a nice pair of black mules.
