As the summer is coming to an end and fall and school are quickly approaching, I find myself trying to squeeze in my last bit of back to school shopping. Michael’s and CVS Pharmacy are already stocked with your Halloween and Thanksgiving must-haves, and every department store that I walk into is already selling their finest parkas. Being the stubborn summer loving girl that I am, I want to hold on to every last drop of summer that I can before I head back to school. As much as I don’t want to admit it, I have noticed the mornings and evenings getting cooler, and the sun setting earlier and earlier. For me this means a couple of things: that my days of wearing bikinis and cut-offs all day are coming to a close, and that bringing a second layer out with me is a must.
A light wash denim jacket is the perfect summer/fall transitional jacket for these cooler summer nights. This Fashonista paired her light wash denim jacket with an army green romper and a pair of brown Tory Burch sandals. This outfit is awesome, because the pieces separately scream summer, but paired together is the perfect summer/fall crossover. Her gold monogram necklace is the perfect simple accessory for this look. The great thing about the denim jacket is that if it gets too hot for wearing around in the daytime, you can sling it around your shoulders or even wear it around your waist for a very relaxed look.
One Simple Change: If you want to take this look from day to night, trade in the sandals for a pair of light brown wedges for the perfect look for a night out with friends.
