Although it is hard to believe, the weather here in Poughkeepsie, New York has finally made a semi-permanent change for the better. In other words, the sun has decided to grace us with its presence, the groundhogs have come out of hiding and the grass is sprouting green all around campus. For students, this means that it is time for Marist Beach! Marist students call the green in front of the library “Marist Beach” during the nice weather because on hot days, it becomes full of students laying and playing as they soak up the sun (some will even quite literally wear bathing suits).
I found this Fashionista enjoying the first weekend of Marist Beach in this outfit. This outfit is perfect for a weekend of Marist Beach fun because it is comfortable enough to lounge around in the sun in but still shows off her style to other fellow beach goers. Her outfit consists of a soft chambray shirt, a loose black tank top and denim shorts. For accessories, she paired her outfit with a bold gold watch and stackable charm bangles. My favorite part of this outfit is her booties. These booties have a slight snake skin texture to them and cutouts accented by gold buckles. The cutouts are super cool and add a little something different to the ordinary black bootie. Booties are extremely on-trend right now and are perfect to wear with nearly any outfit. What I like about her outfit is how nicely the shorts and booties show off her muscular legs. And not to mention that her lean legs could gain lots of color while sitting on the lawn in those shorts!
One Simple Change: This outfit would also be perfect for tailgating at a sporting event on campus. In order to be more festive, I would suggest switching out her black tank top for a Marist T-shirt to show her support for her fellow Red Foxes!
