WHAT TO WEAR: Weekend Wear

As summer is quickly approaching, the influx of out-of-towners that we see greatly increases as people from all over the world come to see the monuments in our nation’s capital. Living in D.C. and in such close proximity to these renowned monuments allows us GW students to explore these historical places on any given weekend. Last weekend, the cherry blossoms were in full bloom and everyone I know tried to make their way down to see them if they had a free hour or so. The weather was hot, the flowers were beautiful and Fashionistas were out and about.

This Fashionista has on the perfect outfit for a day of warm sun and cherry blossoms. In an outfit made up of her best summer whites, this Fashionsta’s weekend wear is casual yet super cute. White denim is one of those staple items every girl should have for summer. She pairs her versatile white jeans with a dressier top from kate spade. Even though it is made of a casual cotton material, the print and peplum detail elevate this top to a dressier level, giving this Fashionista’s overall look more refinement. Simple jewelry and sunglasses keep accessories to a minimum, by giving the outfit some exciting detail. For a day filled with walking and exploring, comfortable shoes are key. Flats are a good shoe option for a warmer active day since they don’t keep your feet fully enclosed like sneakers, and there aren’t straps rubbing your feet in weird ways like sandals.

Mixing casual pieces with comfortable dressier ones is a great way to keep your look put together on your days off of work or school.

One Simple Change: Take this outfit from day to night by swapping out the flats for some sky-high wedges and adding a denim jacket for the cooler nighttime temps.
