WHAT TO WEAR: Weekend Wear

The sun is out, the birds are chirping, and you and your best friend are going to a new, trendy restaurant in town that you have been dying to try! So first things first, what are you going to wear? A weekend lunch is a much more relaxed affair than dinner so you’ve got to find the perfect outfit that’s stylish but casual. Though the East Coast is being hammered by snow storm after snow storm, the West Coast is enjoying a dry, mild winter—dare I say even kind of warm? As February comes to a close and March approaches, sunny, beautiful days become more frequent, which gives us a chance to break out some springtime clothes.

This Fashionista does a fabulous job at putting together the perfect outfit for a lunchtime date. She wears a cotton Free People handkerchief hemmed dress which she pairs with an asphalt colored destroyed sweater. The dress is playful and feminine and the sweater pairs with it perfectly, helping to keep her warm while also adding some contrast to her ensemble’s color scheme. She accessorizes with a black wool wide-brimmed fedora hat and gold jewelry with blue and turquoise stones which match well with the overall bohemian vibe of the ensemble. Layering necklaces are one of my favorite trends lately! Pair short necklaces with longer, slightly chunkier longer necklaces like she did here for a graduated effect.

For shoes, this Fashionista decided to wear a taupe colored pair of Birkenstock sandals which have been my absolute addiction this passed year! They’re comfortable (…SO comfortable), versatile and they have been super trendy the last few seasons. For a dressier look, a pair of black booties would look amazing with this outfit. If you don’t like heels, a pair of strappy sandals would be perfect!

One Simple Change: The bohemian style this Fashionista’s rocking is the ideal winter-almost-spring weekend wear attire. However, if the weather outside isn’t as nice where you are as it is here in Pacific Northwest trying switching out the dress and sandals for a pair of dark wash denim and boots!
