WHAT TO WEAR: Weekend Wear

Ahh, the weekend. It’s the time to catch up on everything you maybe didn’t have time to complete during the week. Whether you are running errands at the local grocery market, meeting a friend for a chocolate sitch at Java’s coffee or just staying in the library and re-typing the notes you didn’t finish in class, there is always time to add style to your busy weekend look. This fashionista represents how you can be cozy and cute while running around on the weekend.

When picking a weekend outfit, it is important to keep in mind simple basics that you can layer with. This Fashionista has all the right accessories for the cold, which are easy to take on and off throughout the day. Having great accessories can completely make an outfit. A stylish backpack is also a great essential for weekend wear. Backpacks don’t need to be limited to carrying books; on the weekend, you ca utilize these cool knapsacks as stylish outfit accessories. Having a backpack is a great and easy way to make a statement while also carrying everything a Fashionista/o needs on the go.

Instead of outdoing her ensemble with crazy prints, this Fashionista masters the use of textures, simplicity and color from head to toe. The subtle red from her crew socks go perfectly with her infinity scarf and pulls the whole outfit together. It was her fuzzy sweater, however, that I fell in love with the most. Gray is a great color because it is neutral tone that can go with anything. Implementing the soft gray with the burgundy is a perfect warm color palette for the Rochester winter.

One Simple Change: For a little extra edge for a date night, try the fuzzy gray sweater with some high-waisted black jeans or some leather leggings and a pair of heeled booties. Add a small cross-body bag and you’re on your way to becoming the next Rachel Zoe.
