WHAT TO WEAR: Weekend Wear

For many of my people out there who spend their weekdays at work, internships or summer courses, I know you look forward to those outings during the weekend. I know I do. The weekend is perfect to catch up with family and friends. It’s also perfect timing to hit the beach, an art museum or grab a bite with a loved one. I know most jobs or internships require a certain attire so I know my Fashionista/o’s enjoy bringing out that cute dress or skirt that one has been saving for a special occasion. Especially now that it’s summer “vacation” our best skirts, dresses, cropped tops and sandals are definitely getting the best use. I know if I’m going to the beach on a beautiful Saturday afternoon I’d wear a long skirt or some cute high-waisted shorts and just have my bathing suit under. What I love about long skirts is that they can easily be dressed up or down, so one item can fit many weekend outings.

This Fashionista is wearing a perfect outfit for weekend wear. It consists of a long floral black skirt, with a slit and a black off-the-shoulder cropped top. This outfit is ideal for a night or day out during the weekend. The skirt is so versatile that it can be dressed up or down.  Even though this Fashionista is wearing dark colors, her off-the-shoulder style and  floral print still represent that summer vibe.  Along with her outfit, she is wearing black gladiator sandals that give a little bit of a causal sense to her outfit.  For accessories she is wearing big gold hoops that complement her neck since she has a little bit of a bare chest. She has on tiny gold necklaces and dark lipstick that make her lips pop. Lastly, you know how most of us girls always carry a clutch, purse or side bag when we go out? Well, my Fashionista is using a small black ‘90s influenced backpack to go with her outfit. As you can see she stayed within the color scheme and type of style as well.

One Simple Change: Depending on what kind of event you choose to go to, you can easily switch the shoes on this outfit and make it fit for a celebration. For example, instead of sandals, black wedges or platforms go with this outfit dressing it up a bit.
