WHAT TO WEAR: Vacation

For many, the idea of a “summer vacation” causes people to perk up, and smile, while visions of endless drinks and delicious seafood dinners float in their heads. For me, the thought of vacation strikes a different nerve. I immediately go into a state of panic, wondering “what the heck am I going to wear? I surely don’t have enough cute outfits!” Packing is even worse. Once I bring myself to actually unzip my suitcases and open my dresser drawers, I end up buried in mounds of clothes hours later. Where’s a personal shopper when you need one?

Men, on the other hand, are much less likely to experience these problems. Most of my male counterparts stick to a few basic shirts, a few pairs of pants and one pair of shoes. It must be nice!

Dressed in a Borgo shirt, a pair of  Dockers pants, an Akribos watch and neutral salt washed Sperry Top-Sider sneakers, this Fashionisto looks like he just stepped off a plane onto a white, sandy beach in Florida. He embraces the cool, laid-back vibe of vacation. His navy button-down shirt is perfect for warm weather during the day and cooler temperatures at night and can be paired with dark-colored shorts as well. His white pants keep him cool and are perfect for daytime or a night out.

This Fashionisto also cuffed his pants slightly, giving the look a casual yet pulled together feel. His watch complements the entire outfit and adds a touch of sophistication, while his shoes are simple and classic.

One Simple Change: If you are traveling to somewhere tropical and experience hot, humid weather, try swapping the button-down for a short sleeved V-neck and the long pants for a pair of comfortable shorts. Enjoy your vacation in style!
