WHAT TO WEAR: Transitioning with Tartan

If you were to base your daily outfits simply off of the calendar seasons this year, you often would have been caught off-guard after stepping outside the past few weeks! Starting in late September, uncharacteristically warm autumn temperatures forced Fashionistas and Fashionistos to be a little more inventive with their fall wardrobe. However, with good color-matching skills, one stylish fashion student succeeded in creating a perfect look!

Starting with the base of her outfit, the jersey knit dress is comfortable and of a vivid evergreen color. Her lace-up flats pay homage to popular summer trends but stay relevant this season with a metallic shine. The Fashionista’s warm coat is simple yet structured, with a light tan that complements rather than competes with the dark gold flats. Some of her favorite accessories, the layered bracelets, became a significant part of the look as they matched the shoes. Her tartan plaid scarf makes the look! A bold fuchsia pattern with green elements that match the dress stands out against autumn’s typical color palette.

The outer pieces are easy to take off depending on the temperature. This Fashionista agrees she is wearing a good transitional outfit because it takes you festively from fall to winter. She wore this fun look to class, but it would also work well for a social event such as an outing with friends. This look is a balance of cute and sophisticated while still staying warm and comfortable, things that are so important as we dive deeper into the colder months!
