WHAT TO WEAR: 'Tis the Season of Transition

March 9th, 2017 at 2:00am

The weather is getting warmer, the skies are getting sunnier, and our outfit possibilities are becoming more and more variable! But, how do we plan a cute look on campus when it’s 40 degrees in the morning and 70 degrees by lunchtime? Don’t worry Fashionistas, this transitional season can be the most fun to outfit coordinate because it allows you to show off the versatility of your wardrobe. Especially in the unpredictable Central Pennsylvania climate, the changing temperatures can call for layers one day and sandals the next. It’s time to dust off your favorite sunnies, but still keep those favorite winter booties and trendy jackets on hand!

This Fashionista did just that. On a bright, springtime stroll in the campus park, we see her rocking the rose gold, cat eye sunnies with sass. Her flowy, striped tunic is breathable for the midday heat, and the off-the-shoulder neckline screams summertime vibes.

The distressed, black denim jeans are complimented with the hint of black in the self-tie choker—both pieces giving the perfect touch of edge. And, of course, the Fashionista’s look would not be complete without some suede ankle booties! If you’re gonna stroll with sass, you gotta click through the campus with a little boost in your step.

But, like any early spring day, it’s gonna get chilly at times and the breeze might call for a jacket. For this sassy Fashionista, a little breeze in the air is no biggie… just another excuse to keep the furry jacket around!

At Penn State University, we have a beautiful Arboretum park right off of campus, which is where this Fashionista was taking a midday walk with friends. This outfit was perfect for dressing weather-appropriate, but still cute enough to take some pics for Instagram.
