WHAT TO WEAR: Tailgating

September 8th, 2015 at 2:00am

As summer is coming to an end, our favorite season is just beginning: college football. With college football comes tailgating, and tailgating at a Big Ten school is just as important, if not more important, than the actual game. Here in Bloomington, us Hoosiers have “never lost a tailgate,” and this Fashionista sure doesn’t want that to change. It’s crucial to make sure your outfit shows your school spirit, while also helping you look cute.

This Fashionista doesn’t miss a detail. You can never go wrong with acid wash high-waisted shorts, in which this is coupled with an Indiana crop top and very sexy red bralette for a little more coverage. Hoosier colors are cream and crimson, but it doesn’t have to stop there. It is a great idea to include all different shades of each color to help complete your outfit. The Fashionista pairs a black and white flannel, featuring different shades of red to contrast the colors in her crop top. To help her pop out from the crowds, she throws on her bright white Converse All-Stars, featuring just the right amount of red accents.

Let’s not forget the accessories. She didn’t forget to throw on her favorite silver rings and bracelets that go with just about everything, but gives off just enough glitz and glam. In addition, throw on those Jimmy Choo shades and an IU baseball hat for when that humidity starts to deflate your hair, and you can’t be stopped! If you think you are going a little overboard for your tailgate, you’re wrong! There is no such thing as too much school spirit—it is okay for your outfit to scream, “I’m live and die for IU!” just like this Fashionista’s.

One Simple Change: Looking to still tailgate when those temperatures drop to below zero? Easy! After adding your flannel, throw on a vest of your school colors and bundle up. Layers are key to keeping warm in the winter season!
