WHAT TO WEAR: Tailgates

September 23rd, 2015 at 2:00am

Fall semester has officially begun, with the overwhelming and busy first few weeks behind us, we can finally breathe a sigh of relief….(actually do this) because in the next month we are all going to find ourselves buried in some corner of the library, cramming for exams. Right now, we need to enjoy as much free time as we possibly can. Around campus, there are many activities that you can become involved with, one of the most common pass time, is College Football games and tailgates. As the weather transitions from summer to fall, finding an outfit can become quite difficult, especially if you live in Iowa. This gameday weekend, I ran into this Fashionista at a tailgate and loved her simple outfit that can be paired with any school or team.

Molly is an Apparel Merchandising student at Iowa State and loves changing her look to reflect her day. Her personal style varies from Preppy to Boho Chic. Whatever she is wearing, Molly tends to make a statement with trendy pieces. When I first saw this Fashionista’s outfit at the tailgate, I fell in love with her denim mini-skirt. In my opinion, this is her statement piece and it’s very #RAD. Not to mention her perfectly cut T-shirt that gives her outfit some school spirit with a little bit of edge.

When tailgating you want to have the right amount of your personal style while supporting your favorite team and/or school, This Fashionista shows her unique style by adding her favorite clutch, and classic sneakers. These items are very versitle and timeless, which is essential for any Fashionista/o on a college budget.

One Simple Change: Depending on the weather you might consider swaping the mini skirt for some destroyed boyfriend jeans and pairing your tee with a flannel or cozy vest. Adding your own personal style is never a bad idea and most importantly, don’t be afraid to try something new, and on trend! P.S: Go State!
