WHAT TO WEAR: Summer

This summer has been a hot one to say the least. Who doesn’t love an easy, breezy shift dress to wear on a humid summer day? This one-piece outfit can be thrown on multiple times throughout the summer for any kind of event! My favorite part about shift dresses is how easy you can dress it up or down. This adorable Fashionista went for a more casual look with her Free People shift dress. Whether it is a frozen yogurt date or a graduation party, this Fashionista was dressed appropriately.

She paired this dress with some great tan leather sandals. Every girl should have her favorite go-to pair of summer sandals in my opinion! Gladiator, lace up or chunky sandals; there are so many options! This Fashionista followed the casual look with her jewelry and accessories. Since this dress had a bit of a low-cut top, she threw on a lace black bralette that subtly poked through. I know I basically live in bralettes during the warm summer months. They are comfy and easy to pair with any outfit. In addition to the bralette, she added some cute rings and a simple necklace so the emphasis was on the dress.

In addition to a big summer trend being shift dresses, this Fashionista embodies an additional trend that I definitely love to wear. Can you guess what it is? That’s right, floral! I love a delicate floral pattern in the summer. The floral pattern continues from year to year on every piece of clothing you can imagine. This Fashionista is rocking more of a soft floral pattern, which brings out a very feminine vibe to this outfit. This is my favorite type of floral because the entire dress isn’t covered in roses and tulips, but instead has a few pops of flowers on a neutral background. This Fashionista had a contagious smile, and really expressed the perfect summer outfit!

One Simple Change: If you’re skipping the mid-day frozen yogurt and going straight to a nice dinner downtown with your girlfriends, this look can work! Add your favorite pair of chunky wedges and maybe a light denim or leather jacket to dress up this look a little bit.
