WHAT TO WEAR: Summer

Summer has found its way to New York City and it came at us hard (as I’m sure it did in other places). At almost 90 degrees, most of us find it difficult to even come outside, not to mention be stylish. Let’s face it: as New Yorkers surrounded by concrete, we’re always wishing we were living on a beach so we could rock beach attire all the time. Alas, we cannot wear bikinis everywhere so we have to come to find a happy medium. As of late, I’m appreciating T-shirt dresses and breezy crop tops that are sure to keep you cool no matter how high the temperature climbs.

As I walked on campus, this Fashionista instantly caught my eye with how equally simplistic and sophisticated she was. Decked out in all black (my favorite), her outfit was a cross between chic and sporty. The black knit bodycon dress is a dress everyone should have in her closet because you can easily dress it up for the nighttime or, as this Fashionista did, dress it down for the daytime. Completing the look with a fabulous black cross-body bag and extremely comfortable Flyknits, she was ready for a hot and busy day in the city. This outfit was ideal for anyone who’s a sneaker lover but also wants to add chicness to her wardrobe.

One Simple Change: Is it one of those hot summer days where you don’t want to leave your apartment but you have errands to run? Don’t fret—try adding a floppy black hat. Floppy hats are perfect for both being fashionable and blocking out the sun.
