The flowers are blooming. Pollen coats the air (and my car). Spring is finally here! Now, when I think of spring, I think of lighter colors. No more are the dark navy and black oufits (in mourning for our midterm grades), but it’s time to shed a couple of layers and take this month into our hands. It’s time to hustle for that final exam, that class you may have skipped way too much this semster, or just for your side jobs and hobbies.
Florals? Duh. But one of my favorite trend for this spring and summer is the off the shoulder trend. Not only is it adorable (please view pictures from above for examples), but it has a very casual vibe, while keeping an outfit put together and classy. Take this stylish Fashionista example: she layers a denim dress with a striped off the shoulder top. The denim dress has pockets (j’adore) that would be suitable to stick in your cellphone and maybe a lip balm as the weather gets drier. Now, you can’t find that particular denim dress, a pair of overall dress works just as well! Her off the shoulder top has these cute frills, which obviously give off a very spring vibe. It was also this particular detail that caught my eye, as I passed her on the streets. Stripes on the top add a school uniform look, in the most casual way.
I think that this would be a great outfit to go have brunch in with a couple of girlfriends, or maybe even visit some fun places, like gardens or parks, with the weather warming up. Also, how fun would it be to wear this cute outfit and pack a picnic lunch and just spend hours reading at the park? You’ve been couped up way to long in your house over the winter. It’s time to show yourself some love (and vitamin D) with a great book, a yummy lunch/snack, and an outfit that makes you feel confident!
