WHAT TO WEAR: Spring

April 17th, 2015 at 2:10am

Spring has sprung. It may or may not be raining outside but it’s definitely time to nix your thermal leggings and fur-lined hoods. I mean, let’s face it, we both know you’ve been counting down the moments until April conditions.

It’s time for bright patterns, breathable jeans and great jackets. If you go to class in something you look good in AND feel good in, trust me it is well worth it every time. And no matter what it may be, a little personal flare never hurt nobody.

See how it’s done via this Fashionista. She combined just the right amount of classic-cool with personal style to create the perfectly exciting spring outfit; she was able to avoid wearing neon, something crazy or a bright fluorescent sign saying “Look here, Check me out.” So, how does she do it…?

Let’s start from the top down. She wore a great graphic T-shirt, something totally simple, but completely workable into her everyday look. Her fresh denim jacket has a textured sleeve to bring a pop of color to her look and simply to bring a modern twist to a classic look. Down to her jeans, let me just say that these are not just your average, everyday pair. The grunge look has nothing on this Fashionista like a true stud (literally, her jeans are studded). And her shoes! She puts your Chuck Taylors to shame. In my humble opinion, I think platform sneakers are the coolest thing since sliced bread, and being able to rock them? Just the icing on the cake. She finishes off her rad look with an adorable Rebecca Minkoff backpack that is just the right amount of fun and collegiate.

Accessory-wise, she sports this season’s latest trend: a nameplate. Yes, you heard right, the nameplate is going back in style. What you might have thought to be oh-so-1975 is back and better than ever. She finishes off her jewelry with a cool ear crawler.

All in all, this Fashionista knows what she’s doing. She pairs patterns and styles to give a lot of personality in a little outfit. If you don’t know what to wear this season, well then look no further!

One Simple Change: Swap the graphic T-shirt for something floral and flowing, and change the platforms for pumps and you can rock this outfit out tonight.
