WHAT TO WEAR: Spring

After spending my week-long Spring Break stalking my friends’ Instagram photos on the beach and indulging in an unnatural amount of ice cream (seriously, I am concerned for my well-being), it is time to crank out the last six weeks of sophomore year. Though it is bittersweet to watch the time pass so quickly, I could not be happier that spring weather is finally making its way to Ohio Wesleyan; however, with sunshine might come the occasional rainy day. This Fashionista managed to pull together the perfect outfit for the unpredictability that is Ohio weather.

This Fashionista conquered this confusing weather by layering simple pieces. On top, she is rocking a plain white boxy T-shirt underneath a textured, black open cardigan and tan raincoat that has a plaid inner lining. The white shirt is a great basic that pairs perfectly with her boyfriend jeans because it is loose, which keeps it school-appropriate, but is also cropped, which gives the outfit a feminine touch. It contrasts perfectly with the loose-fitting jeans. The cozy cardigan was a nice addition because it is not too heavy, but will still keep this Fashionista warm. As far as her jacket goes, a chic raincoat with subtle inner lining detailing can’t be a bad addition either, right?

The boyfriend jeans and Arizona Birkenstock sandals are not only on trend, but are also a great alternative to the leggings and Hunter Boot combo (nothing against that look, I am still very much about that life). The jeans are relaxed and ripped, yet they still show shape. Plus, no one really wants to wear real pants on a dreary day, so this Fashionista gets extra points for that.

The accessories this Fashionista picked are perfect for this outfit. She is wearing a simple gold necklace with the state of Maine on the end, a turquoise wrap bracelet, a gold band and a black watch trimmed in gold.

One Simple Change: You want to kick things up a notch? Try swapping out the Birkenstock sandals for a pair of black booties and switch the black cardigan and raincoat for a tailored black blazer for the perfect girl’s night out look.
