WHAT TO WEAR: Spring

It is no secret to us Fashionistas/os that spring can be a little less than ideal. Hey, April showers bring May flowers, right? It seems all of our favorite stores are already launching their summer festival lines, regardless of temperature.

Do you feel like your spring/ summer wardrobe deserves some long awaited love? Then take a look at this month’s Fashionista and how she rocks H&M’s new Coachella line in the cool spring air.

The colorful crochet pattern has returned as a major festival trend once again this year. If you’re not quite ready to pop on your favorite bathing suit or denim shorts under one of these decorative pieces, follow this Fashionista’s lead. Instead of shoving her new summer collection to the back of the closet to wait for warmer months, she used a black pant and crop top to create a solid column under the transparent dress.

When trying to imitate this look, be sure that you create your column using pieces with similar neck lines and seams in order to keep the focus on your layered knit.

The long pant and jacket not only keep this outfit stylish but also comfortable for running across campus through the cold April wind. To keep the outfit unified, our Fashionista chose a faux leather legging and jacket. The shine at the bottom and top of this outfit give the look a sleek and polished feel.

Once she is comfy and confident enough to hit the books, the last step is to accessorize! Simple choker necklaces are making a huge comeback right now. These tiny strips of fabric can be seen around the necks of everyone from Rihanna to Kendall Jenner.  This ’90s-inspired piece frames the neck and hair line, making it ideal for a trendy shoulder length cut.

One Simple Change: Looking to turn this simple crochet dress into something more formal? Try opting for a same length black skirt over the long black pant. Then ditch the jacket, add some heels and it’s party time!
