WHAT TO WEAR: Spring

Volatile temperatures make it difficult to fight the urge to stay in bed all day under the covers, avoiding the hassle of getting dressed for Tallahassee weather.

Alas, this Fashionista here has created a layered ensemble compiled of just enough cover to stay cool and warm, both figuratively and literally.

The first layer consists of a super simple Contemporary Mock Neck Dress found at Forever 21 for under $15 dollars, satisfying the nearly-turtleneck vibe that everyone has been indulging in maybe a little bit too much, seeing as we’re in the north…of Florida. The black base is the perfect length and cut to be able to throw the main component atop to make for an embellished get-up that screams effortlessly edgy. The uneven hem at the bottom leaves some leg room that everyone missed after winter; while the bell sleeves glide with you as you pay tribute dancing to some of your favorite Woodstock artists in preparation for festival season.

The tribal details along with the drawstring ties and fringed tassels found in the For the Love of Flowers Tunic from Free People will make your significant other want to pull you in and pretend like it’s still too cold to venture outdoors. Throw on a long, dainty gold necklace to enhance the exposed black dress from the low V-neck factor of the tunic! She has crystals galore and the prices aren’t as heinous as Urban Outfitter’s jewels can be.

Finally, tights are a hassle, but these black faux suede flat over-the-knee boots are not, and leave that bit of leg room I was saying that deserves to be seen now that the sun has been (trying) to come out.

One Simple Change: Take off the tunic and cover up with your favorite fuzzy coat or leather jacket to prepare for the setting of the sun, and rearrange your jewelry to make for a louder statement since the details of the tunic are no longer.
