WHAT TO WEAR: Spring

It’s the end of April and with a couple more weeks to go until summer break, you might think about reaching for those comfy sweatpants in the morning. but don’t! The trends that were on the runway for the spring 2015 season are versatile and there is a trend that is doable for everyone.

The details in this week’s Fashionista outfit are definitely full of spring/summer trends. The Fashionista’s outfit consists of a blue button-down shirt with a gingham pattern (a trend spotted on the spring runways) and pair of light-wash destroyed jeans. The jeans in a boyfriend style have been popular here at PUC campus. The Fashionista wears a simple pair of beige-tone sandals. For accessories, she wears one single gold bracelet. A top knot and pair of chic glasses finishes this Fashionista’s look.

The spring/summer 2015 runways were full of gingham. Designers from Altuzarra, Diane von Furstenberg and Oscar de la Renta all featured the pattern. From two-piece outfits (skirts with crop tops), dresses (with up-to-there slits) and skirts, gingham was definitely a popular runway trend and it’s also one to integrate in your closet. Adding a pattern is a great way to make your outfit more interesting. A gingham pattern for the spring can do just that. It’s a pattern that works for a laid back study day to something a bit more formal. It all depends on what type of clothing the pattern is on. Put it on a dress and it’s sophisticated or place it on a pair of shorts and top and you have something more playful.

One Simple Change: If spring weather still hasn’t hit your campus, wear a military green jacket to combat the cold weather.
