Sipping our warm drinks and walking along the cities downtown area, this Fashionista and I go way back. Back in our high school days we bonded over Seventeen Magazine and the latest celeb gossip. Now, at totally different colleges we tend to do the same thing; except this time it’s Vogue. Being a part of the women’s tennis team at the University of Maryland, there’s no wonder why she’s totally working the athleisure trend.
Representing the University of Maryland, this Fashionista wanted to make her slip dress casual. Pairing the dress up with her oversized varsity jacket gave her a comfortable, casual edge. The red “M” on her varsity jacket gives us a pop of color, and her simple choice in jewelry allows the jacket to be the focal point of her outfit.
Looking forward to 2017 fashion trends, this Fashionista is especially excited for new shoe trends. She wears boots with everything, including this outfit! As for trends to leave in your 2016 shopping bag, this Fashionista thinks lace up shirts, off the shoulder tops, and fur slippers are things of the past. She finds her inspiration through magazines and celebrity Instagrams but always adds her own little twist to it. Her unique, fun, and sporty character shines through with this outfit.
It’s always hard to avoid the lingerie look when it comes to slip dresses, and I feel that this Fashionista did a fantastic job. Not only is this the perfect day outfit, but simply taking the jacket off and adding a fur shawl can easily give the slip dress a fun, classy night look.
