WHAT TO WEAR: Presentation

It is getting to that point in the semester where final project and presentation deadlines are fast approaching. All of us are having last-minute, caffeine-fueled meetings with groups and are pulling all-nighters to put the finishing touches on our academic work. Then we inevitably get the news from our professor that dress for the presentation will be business casual. The thought of wearing an uncomfortable oxford shirt/pencil skirt combo for the millionth time makes me want to roll my eyes so hard that my retinas detach. With closets full of amazing clothes, surely we can find some acceptable loophole in the attire requirement.

After crafting the perfect solution, I spotted this Fashionista strutting across campus. At first glance, it looked as if she was pairing Parisian stripes with a colorful, high-waisted midi skirt, but upon further inspection, it was all one fabulous dress! Lately, one piece looks that look like two piece looks have been rather popular among college students due to the lack of planning that goes into it when we don’t have the energy to coordinate a whole outfit. With her blacked-out tights and oxfords, this outfit is both modest and conservative for a classroom presentation, but, most importantly, not boring. The mustard yellow in her skirt is a fun fall color that certainly grabs your attention. Lastly, who knew that Vans made such cute oxfords? They are the perfect polished and comfortable shoe to tie off the look.

One Simple Change: If your group wants to celebrate a successful presentation after class with a night out of food and fun, simply ditch the blackout tights for a pair of quirky patterned tights to lighten the mood.
