WHAT TO WEAR: Milan Fashion Week

This past month I had the opportunity to travel from Florence to attend Milan fashion week in Italy! Even though getting into shows was nearly impossible, being in the atmosphere and seeing all the street style was a show in itself. Milan is such an eclectic city that really comes to life with the people of fashion week. There was so much cool street art and the fashion reflected it. The idea that black is the key to fashion week is simply a hoax. I spotted Monster Fendi bags, mix-matched patterns and bright colored cutolettes. I predict that the street style I spotted was that of the lucky bloggers who had to die for seats inside.

Milan is a big city and if you want to chase the best street style, or even supermodels, (really sad I didn’t see Gigi Hadid fight off that crazy reporter) you need to always be on the move. I spotted this Fashionista in front of the Giorgio Armani headquarters. She decided to go for a neutral look. This Fashionista wore a satin lace trim tank top tucked into a patterned leather skirt. She paired that with a comfortable pair of black booties and an army green jacket. The jacket was an absolute must for this time of year. Mornings have been chilly in Italy, but the temperature heats up to about 80 degrees during the day. Layers are important! She also rocked a unique pair of pink mirrored sunnies that reminded me of Dior’s popular frames. When asked, she said the key to surviving the madness of fashion week is wearing comfortable shoes, staying cool and staying hydrated! I agreed.

I had an amazing time at fashion week, and I encourage all you Fashionistas/os to channel your inner creative street style!
