WHAT TO WEAR: Library

May 5th, 2015 at 2:10am

Spring has finally sprung and to celebrate, we are finally breaking out the tank tops, shorts and lightweight outerwear that have been hibernating in our closets as we enjoy the rising temperatures and milder climate that prelude the finals season. This is the perfect time of the year to mix your darker, winter pieces with lighter, summer pieces for the ultimate springtime layered looks that keep you comfortable during the temperamental spring season in New York City.

This Fashionista has the right idea for what to wear when you need to hit the library on such spring days where the weather is warmer but subject to change at any moment. Taking a winter piece and pairing it with a summer piece, she dons a sweater dress with a light wash, denim vest. The black sweater dress with white stripes accentuating the scoop neck and waist is layered over opaque tights, reminiscent of colder days. By throwing on an easy, rugged, light wash denim vest, she appropriates the look for the spring season. The vest adds an extra punch of summer vibes with destroyed areas and extra fraying on the cut-off sleeves.

She plays up the athletic features of the white stripes on her sweater dress by pairing them with classic, comfy, all-white Nike sneakers. The black and white color scheme she has going on here is an on trend, fun look for spring. She adds delicate jewelry with a fine necklace and cute hoop earrings and finishes off the ensemble with an oversized, black tote bag for books.

One Simple Change: If you’re going straight from studying to an internship, simply switch out the denim vest for a leather jacket for a more refined, classy and casual look.
