WHAT TO WEAR: Internship

As the end of this semester is quickly approaching and next semester is rolling around, many of us will have brand new internships that we need to dress to impress for. Having a corporate job, however, does not mean you have to compromise style. One can incorporate trendy pieces into a fashion-forward look, while still staying professional.

In this look, this Fashionista went with an all black pantsuit—a business classic. A nice fitting black blazer and a tailored pair of slacks are two basics that every working student needs in their closet. When your alarm rings at 6:00 a.m. for you to wake up and report to work, having these basics will make your mornings much easier and stress-free, as they can easily be paired with anything.

This Fashionista chose to pair her pantsuit with a taupe-colored chiffon top. I love the contrast of the taupe with the burgundy scarf. Skinny scarves are one of this season’s hottest trends; you can find them in every color and pattern. I think they are super chic and sophisticated—perfect for a work setting. Do not be afraid to accessorize your business attire. The turquoise puff this Fashionista added to her black bag makes the bag fun and flirty. It is a perfect accessory to change the look of a bag you have had in your wardrobe for a long time.

Lastly, she spiced up her trousers by adding a pair of ankle boots that hit right at the hem of the pants. This instantly makes her legs look longer. Not only is this Fashionista on-trend for the upcoming season, but she is dressed to impress in a professional setting.

One Simple Change: If you are going out on the town after a long day on the job, ditch the blazer for a leather jacket. This will instantly add a playful edge to the trousers and ankle boots. Also be sure to add a metallic clutch and a stack of bracelets.
