WHAT TO WEAR: Internship

It’s that time of the summer where internships are fully underway and interns are constantly on the go whilst trying to stay fashionable. Although many offices differ on their dress code (for instance, everyone in my office wears jeans and sneakers), it’s always important to dress to impress. Even if there are some days where casual clothing is acceptable, it’s never a problem to go above and beyond with your outfit choice.

As this Fashionista was walking to her internship, it was no surprise that she was dressed like the next CEO. This polished look is great for your first day on the job, a department meeting or just to dress up! Even though dark colors are more common during the cooler months, this Fashionista makes dark colors fit for any season. The first piece of her outfit that caught my eye was her polished burgundy blazer with black mesh on the sides. Sophisticated and edgy, it was the perfect balance for her sleek, black attire. Her dress is professional, yet playful with the lace detail that is stitched up the front. Keeping this look from becoming drab, she decided to add a small belt with a shiny bow-tie detail. This was wise and feminine move on her part. To keep it business, but not over the top, she paired this outfit with a pair of black sandals that had jeweled detail. Even though the entire shoe was black, the white from the jewels made her shoes pop.

This Fashionista’s outfit is the perfect mix for any internship and the duties that come with it. Whether it is sitting in on a meeting, calculating spreadsheets for the buying department or running errands around the city, she is dressed appropriately no matter what the task. Starting something new and out of your comfort zone can be overwhelming, but with the right outfit, you’ll be sure to be beaming with confidence on your first day.

One Simple Change: Planning on grabbing food with your girlfriends after a long day of work? Swap the sandals for a pointed toe flat or a pair of killer booties for the best girls night out.
