WHAT TO WEAR: Internship

Choosing an outfit for the first day on an internship can be difficult. If you’re going into the fashion industry, it’s obvious that you’ll want to dress to impress. When deciding on an internship outfit, it’s important to look presentable while incorporating some of your own personal style. You definitely want to wear something that makes you stand out from the other interns and get noticed, but don’t go too overboard or else it’ll look like you’re trying too hard.

In this particular outfit, this Fashionisto made sure to look super professional, but is still showing some of his high-fashion flair. This outfit is perfect for an internship because it’s dressy, but not overly dressed. He’s not wearing a suit and tie, but he still looks super presentable. This Fashionisto stuck with a classic look by wearing black dress pants, paired with a white button-down and adorned with gray polka dots. The white shirt is perfect for the summer and if it gets too hot, the shirt would look great with the sleeves rolled up as well. As for the shoes, this Fashionisto shows off his high end taste by wearing Christian Louboutin loafers. This particular shoe is the spring/summer version of the classic Louboutin loafer, which makes it perfect for a summer internship.

I think that the accessories in this outfit is what really brings it all together and helps to highlight the personal style of this Fashionisto. The first thing that my eyes were drawn to is the silver Hermès belt buckle. A belt like this will definitely stand out in an internship, especially if you’re in a room of Fashionistas/os. Lastly, I believe that a watch is perfect way to complete any professional outfit, so I love that this Fashionisto adds a watch to his outfit—it’s the perfect touch.

One Simple Change: Swap the black dress pants to a pair of blue or black jeans to go from the office to dinner with friends.
